Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
They told me it was 40 miles from Dieppe to Gournay en Bray - in the event I cycled 53 miles! 20 miles was on a tarmac disused railway line so relatively flat. Now I've never been a lover of cycling up hills but I kind of missed them on this stretch as it was relentless pedalling - at least at the top of a hill you get to rest a bit on the way down other side. There were quite a few hills at the end of the ride and I was curiously grateful...
The aim of this charity ride is to raise money for the school for cycling storage and also a minibus, which will reduce the number of car journeys when taking the children to sporting activities and other events. Another objective is to involve the whole school in a spirit of achievement - cycling to Paris has been the theme of much of the teaching and assignments done in the school and the results have been spectacular - the children have even designed the cycling shirts that the riders will wear to Paris.
The children have already raised money by doing their own sponsored cycle around the school playing field, where they collectively cycled to Paris and back again!
Please see www.r4rh.org for more information about the ride and other events
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Round Hill School Parents Teachers Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
It's not too late so please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
