2010 Sheffield Half Marathon · 25 April 2010 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 25th April I will be carrying my 17 stone body around the 13 mile course from Don Valley to Hunters Bar and back again, in the Sheffield Half marathon. I'll be setting off at 9:30am along with 8 of my friends and family that will have travelled from Watford, Coventry, Devon and Durham. Personally I have wanted to run a half marathon for a number of years but never been disciplined or motivated enough to do it. Not until Christine, my mother in law, laid down the challenge at Christmas did I think I would actually ever do it. It's a big thing for me, I hated running cross country at school, but I've prepared well and I'm feeling good about running on Sunday. Its all in aid of raising money for the building fund for the local church that I attend. We are based in a 100 year-old Victorian building that is in urgent need of repair and modernisation. The Church has become a real community resource that is used by people of all ages and from all religious and cultural backgrounds. About 350 people use the building every week for church, social and learning activities. So there are a lot of people doing all they can to make sure these repairs can be done and the positive work of the church in the community can continue. This is one of many fundraising activities going on over the next year. Your donation will make a difference, and help us achieve our fundraising target of £250,000. Thank you for any amount that you are able to give. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
