Story

Giving something bake

As you may know, The Movement Centre, a wonderful charity in Oswestry, played a pivotal role in helping our son Stanley to sit, stand and finally walk, and helps lots of kids each year reach their movement potential. We can never thank them enough for what they have done for Stan and our family.

This is a tough time for charities and we thought it only right that we combine 2 things we love... cake and The Movement Centre.

All you need is love (and cake)

While we’re all at home self-isolating together, we wanted to make good
use of our time and raise some money for The Movement Centre, by creating a movable feast for other families to enjoy, inspired by something Stan loves more than anything – cake!

Keep it sweet with a Traybake Treat.

We’re offering a weekly baking service of scrummy traybake treats delivered each Friday to anyone within 10 miles of Shrewsbury (or if you prefer you can collect) – so it really is a movable family treat feast. If you have a special occasion or would like your cake sooner, let us know in your email and we will see what we can do.

**Delivery now also available in Wellington and surrounding areas**

Choose your tantalising Traybake Treats:

  • Luscious Lemon Drizzle
  • Marvellous Millionaire’s Shortbread
  • Cheeky Chocolate Brownie
  • Rainbow Sprinkle Sponge
  • Raspberry Bakewell delight

Each disposable tray serves 12 lip-smacking portions (even more if you’re being good) and are all freshly made at home.

Sharing is caring

To make them even more enjoyable, each tray includes a Sharing Kit, including a wordsearch, fun family game, colouring sheet and some conversation starter cards - fun for all the family.

Donating and ordering is a piece of cake

We know that everyone is facing tough times at the moment, so there’s no pressure to commit, but we also know that keeping the children fed and watered is one of the biggest challenges of being at home, so hopefully this can save you a job and give you a delicious and well-deserved weekly treat, safely delivered to your door.

We ask for a minimum donation of £12.00, with every single penny going straight to The Movement Centre. So, if you can, please do give some dough (pretty please, with a cherry on top)!

To order, please donate and drop us an email on havecakewilltravel2020@gmail.com letting us have your order and contact details including the best contact number for you.

(if your JustGiving profile is anonymous please drop your initials in the accompanying note to help us match orders to donations, thanks!)

The icing on the cake

Every time you order, you’ll get a lucky number and, if we reach our £2,000 target, you’ll be entered into a raffle to win one of these fabulous prizes below:

Thanks so much for reading - we can’t wait to get baking for you all.

PS: We have been isolating for a long time now to protect Stan so we are very aware of COVID-19 and social distancing restrictions. We will always ensure that our delivery process is contactless - please don't think we're being anti-social!

Most of us take for granted the ability to control our head, sit, crawl, stand or walk. We help children with cerebral palsy, global developmental delay & other problems of movement control to achieve these skills through a unique therapy, Targeted Training, which can completely change their lives.
