Story
Welcome and a great big thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 19th July I will be taking part in the Great Newham London Run, the first time I've ever set out to do a long distant run. This will be a personal challenge for me that I've slowly built myself up to do and something that I am very much looking forward to as it fast approaches.
What keeps me motivated is the thought of my Nan who has dementia and the people closest to her, my family, who do everything to help her retain her sense of identity.
I hope to raise money for the Alzheimer's society for those who have dementia and everyone who tries to do their best at coping with caring.
So if you'd like to donate to my run and to this cause, here's what your donations will be helping to achieve:
£5 could pay for one person to attend a half hour session at a monthly Dementia Café.
£20 could pay for 100 copies of Understanding and respecting the person with dementia - one of the Society's most requested factsheets.
£50 could fund a PhD researcher for one day to continue vital research into understanding the causes of dementia and ultimately, to find a cure.
£120 could pay to run Talking Point for one day - the Society's 24/7 online community for all people affected by dementia.
So how to do it:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks again for taking the time to visit my page!
