Story
We will all forever admire Jim Coote for his energy, patience, knowledge and perseverance. He was one in a million, and so appreciative of the world and people around him. He will be sorely missed. Those who knew him must find peace in the fact that we were blessed to have him play a part in our lives, and after 18 months of fighting cancer (which was told by doctors to be only 3 months!), he is at rest. The Coote family has set up this page in order for you to have the opportunity to do something to help and make a difference by donating to a charity in which the disease involved directly affected Jim. We have chosen the Colitis Charity because it is a disease that Jim developed while suffering from leukemia; cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Colitis is a long-term chronic condition that affects the colon. Jim’s granddaughter, Scarlett, has ulcerated colitis, so this disease was already close to the family. We know that Jim would be wanting this charity to receive money to help raise awareness and bring about more research to a disease which is not very well known, this can be done directly through this page (see right side). Alternatively (or additionally) you can donate to the Dystonia Charity. Dystonia is a range of movement disorders that causes involuntary spasms and contractions. Dystonia affected Jim, and his mum, Violet, and son, Alan, were also affected. This would therefore be another appropriate and worthwhile cause for your money to go. And we are sure that Jim would also be happy to support that charity. This can be done through this link-http://www.justgiving.com/adder. Lastly, of course, you can donate to the Leukemia Charity. Donations can be made through this website; https://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk.
Thank you in advance for your donations, the Coote family and the charities are very appreciative. We are humbled by your kind words and support so far, and we know that Jim would be very grateful and happy supporting a charity instead of spending too much money on flowers.
