Story

23 Nov - What a fantastic time we all had!  Thank you so much to everyone who came to support us - the Debbie and Steve fan club took up most of one side of the dance floor and was certainly the most vocal.  Amazingly you spurred us on to joint 4th place with Rachel and Shaun!   A fantastic £4000 has been raised through the event so far and sponsorship continues to come in so it's not too late if you can spare a pound or two.  It has been such a great experience and I would recommend it to everyone.  Strictly St Barnabas will return in 2011 so if you are interested email me at debbie.watson@stbarnabashospice.co.uk and our events team will keep you informed.  xx

19 Nov - Only 2 days to go now and the nerves have really kicked in!  Over 300 in the audience and I will be trying not to make eye contact with any of them!  A few more seats have just been released so grab one quickly if you haven't got yours.

Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far, your generous donations and your fab comments are much appreciated.  And there's still time for the rest of you!!  I would love to reach the halfway mark before Sunday.  Looking forward to catching up with you all at the Lawn on Sunday and hope you have a great evening of entertainment :-)

4 Nov - 8 weeks ago I joined with 19 other strictly beginners on a dancing adventure.  In just 10 x 1 hour weekly lessons we are learning to waltz and salsa to take part in the Strictly St Barnabas fundraising event at the Lawn in Lincoln on Sunday 21st November!

After weeks of looking at our feet (and bumping into everyone else), going home with the odd bruise or three and being found counting 1-2-3 while gliding around the office and Tesco, I (and my dance partner Steve) think it is finally making a little sense and thoughts are now turning to sequins and shoes!

While I am having a great time and am looking forward to showing off to family, friends and colleagues at the big event (yes, honestly - gulp!), my main reason for taking part is to raise funds to support the essential work of St Barnabas Hospice in Lincolnshire so my toes (and I still have 10), hope you will dig deep and help me to reach my target.

If you would like to witness the event of the year on Sunday 21st November at 7.30 I have tickets at £10 each but please get in touch asap as I'm told we are heading for a sell out - I think everyone must be desperate for a good laugh!

Thanks so much for your support.
