Story
My two year old niece Perrie, has a condition called Hip Dysplasia, this means she had no ball and socket on her hips. Perrie needed major surgery to start the process of correcting this condition to ensure she can live a normal life in the future.
She underwent 6 hours of surgery, where she had bone grafts and metal work was fitted to help her bones grow. Perrie subsequently spent 3 months in a full SPICA cast and the process is not over yet.
Just like all the poorly children, Perrie spends endless hours in the wards of The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Without the support of the charity, she would not be able to be in a home from home environment filled with toys and activities to take her mind of the constant medical procedures. With this support parents can sleep in hospital with their children, I can't describe how important this is to the children and their family's.
I am the team leader of a team of 6 men, from Zulu Company, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, that are going to complete the "Three Peaks Challenge" - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - carrying 15kg in 24 hours over the 30/31 Jul 2014.
Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Thanks for taking the time to visit Zulu Company's JustGiving page.
