Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
UPDATE
I've done it, 2:06:52, so room for improvement for next year! It was a glorious day, the atmosphere was brilliant and the North Sea and Tynemouth Priory looked beautiful with blue sky and bright sunshine as we came down the hill for the final mile along the coast. Many, many thanks for your very generous donations. I think the page will be open for a little longer, so if you would like to add to donations, please do. Thank you again.
In connection with my work as Diocesan Officer for Rural Affairs, I have recently become Chaplain to the Northumberland Group of Farm Crisis Network. So I know first hand what a good organisation FCN is.
FCN is a member of the Farming Help Partnership, complementing the work of the ARC Addington Fund and of RABI. It provides a visiting service and staffs the national helpline for the Partnership. FCN consists of lots of wonderful, committed volunteers offering pastoral and practical support to farming people. Most of FCN's work is done quietly but is hugely valuable for the lives of individuals and families. You can read more about their work by following the link in the left column of this page.
While FCN works mainly with volunteers, there are inevitably costs involved and FCN relies on donations from churches, other organisations and individuals like yourself to keep going.
So no surprise then that I have decided to run The Great North Run on 20th September this year in aid of FCN - and I hope you will support this. It's going to be the 11th Great North Run for me so I know the route and those deceptive slow hills! My preparations are hampered due to an awkwardly persistent achilles niggle but I am confident I shall be gannin alang the Felling Bypass in due course, if not in record time ...
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - it saves me time and it cuts costs for FCN since they don't have to deal with the paperwork for Gift Aided donations and cheques.
Thank you for considering to support FCN through my Great North Run. I hope you will.
Yours
Dagmar
