Story

Dear Compatriots and Friends,

As you will have seen in the news, the violent cyclone “Batsirai" which hit the eastern part of Madagascar in the first week of February 2022 was enormous and unprecedented. More than 90% of some villages was destroyed. The widespread flooding and the risk of disease it brought is increasing the destitution of a population already living below the poverty line. The needs are enormous and urgent actions are required to provide immediate emergency humanitarian
assistance such as food, daily hygiene products, medicines and long-term help in the reconstruction of houses, schools and hospitals. Members of the Malagasy Diaspora in the UK are contributing to these efforts, but we cannot do it alone, so we are calling on you – our friends, colleagues and neighbours – to contribute to the fundraising effort that we have set up in partnership with the UK charity Feedback Madagascar. Feedback Madagascar has over 30 years’ experience
working in Madagascar with a dedicated team already in operation in the affected areas. They are ready with a comprehensive work plan for the delivery of emergency assistance to the affected population and the reconstruction of destroyed villages in the Mananjary region in the eastern part of Madagascar.
All the funds will be entrusted to this charity for the emergency relief and the reconstruction work in the most affected area on our behalf. Your contribution is very needed.

Thank you.
