Rowing solo, unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean. The event will take place in December 2014, leaving from Gran Canaria to Barbados, along the Mid Atlantic route.

The trip should take about 3 months, and is to raise funds for Children On The Edge.

Anita Roddick sparked the beginnings of Children on the Edge when she mobilised The Body Shop to help institutionalised and neglected children in Eastern European orphanages. COTE continue to bring hope, life, colour and fun into the lives of the most marginalised and vulnerable children across the world; those literally ‘on the edge’. COTE reaches out to children across the globe, providing education, safety and a safe haven for play.

We all grew up taking things for granted. As kids, we would think about what Disney cartoon to watch, what toys we want for Xmas. As teenagers, we think what brand of clothes we want to wear. But not all children are born lucky like some of us. Whilst we decide Scooby Doo or Danger Mouse, there are kids out there wishing for clean drinking water and a piece of bread for breakfast, and if they are lucky, some lunch. Do something generous, every little helps.
