ZMCC ROAD TAX RUN

In the 1930’s a founding father of the ZMCC, Mr Joe Gray Snr, completed a motorcycle run from John O’Groats to Lands End. The present day ZMCC members are going to go that little bit further and also recreate this historic club event and call it the Road Tax Run.
On 6th August 2017 the ZMCC will be starting at the UK’s most northerly public road in Skaw, Unst, Shetland to the most southerly public road at Lizard Point, Cornwall.
The run will include 4 ferry crossings: Unst to Yell, Yell to Shetland Mainland, Shetland Mainland to Orkney, crossing Orkney by road and ferry crossing from Orkney to the north coast of Scotland. We will take in John O’Groats to Lands End before heading to the Lizard Point. The total distance is approximately 1160 miles one way and we anticipate it will take us 5 days.
There is also the possibility of a world record attempt as the largest group of bikers to tour the true full length of Great Britain - there are 16 people and 13 motorbikes travelling from Shetland.
