Story

Youth Care Nebbi is a truly grass roots organisation run by social workers in Nebbi, Uganda. Social worker Francis Kumakech devotes his time to supporting children in Nebbi who have no homes and no support networks except each other and whatever charitable help is available to them. Francis attends to their immediate and longer term needs. These children need clothing in the first instance and also resources to support their educational and vocational needs. Aside from money, donations of clothing, pens and other learning tools, and even sewing machines, will go a long way to improving the life experiences and life chances of these children.

BASW North East admires the work of our international colleague Francis Kumakech and wishes to show solidarity with him and the children he supports by raising funds and resources to help meet their immediate and long term needs.
