Hello everyone!

My name is Yaroslava (Yasia). I am 19 years old. I was born and raised in Kyiv. I graduated from Creative International School in 2020. I completed the first year of a bachelor's program in Natural Sciences at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

Earlier this year, I was pleased to get an admission into the University College London, one of the top ranked universities in the world. I will be majoring in Chemistry with Management Studies. This degree will allow me to work in research and build an understanding of how business works.

The Russian aggression in Ukraine forced me to flee my country. As most of my peers, I am heavily traumatized by the horrific Russian war crimes and crimes against humanity. However, I am determined to continue my studies. I have started this fundraiser to help me cover tuition fees and living costs in London.

Apart from my studies, I am helping the effort to defend Ukraine. I gave interviews to BBC World News and the New Yorker to share the story about the young generation in wartime. I am also volunteering at the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia, where my father serves as an Ambassador. I run Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, analyze mass media coverage and provide assistance to the Ukrainian refugees.

Before the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine I was working as an English tutor teaching kids. Also, I volunteered at the Ukrainian Fashion Week, WABBA Bodybuilding Competition, Tabletochki Charity Foundation, and GoGlobal English summer camps.

I participated in many debate competitions on topics ranging from politics and history to science and innovations. I attended London International Youth Science Forum in the UK in 2021. I have also graduated from the Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive at Lehigh University in the USA in 2019. I completed Georgetown University College Preparation Program in 2018.

I have no doubt that Ukraine will win. I will get my degree in Chemistry and Management Studies and will come back to Kyiv. I will use my London education to make an input into Ukraine’s R & D and innovation sectors.

Since I have arrived in London on a sponsored visa extended to the Ukrainian refugees, I qualify for domestic tuition in the UK. However, it’s still a huge amount of money for my family to pull off. Therefore, I need your support.
