Story
I was born in April 1967, two months before the Six-Day-War which saw the start of Israel's occupation of Gaza, West Bank and Golan Heights. Half a century and several wars on, the occupation remains a major contributor to the difficult problems faced by all those living in Israel and Palestine.
As we both turn 50, I would like to acknowledge some of the work done within Israel to alleviate the great hardships suffered by Palestinian and Israeli Arabs in particular over generations lived in a conflict zone.
Sindyanna of Galilee is a unique, non profit organisation. It was established in 1996 by my sister Hadas who also runs it with a team of Arab and Jewish women working to create social change from the ground up.
Their goals are to produce outstanding fair-trade olive oil and other premium food products, while enhancing Arab-Jewish cooperation, creating economic and educational opportunities for Arab women, and assisting local Arab growers and producers.

I'm very well aware of the many and frequent calls on all your generosities from so many good causes. It really is moving to have so much support for this one. Thank you. Have a look at their website and let me know, or just say an approx number.

8 years agoAfter half a century of occupation, the Israel-Palestine conflicts does not appear to be getting any better. Yet, an increasing number of people on both sides are becoming more determined to develop the sort of neighbourly coexistence and understanding that is essential in laying foundations for peace. Sindyanna of Galilee embodies a resistance to the prevailing 'no partner' rhetoric. It is a grass roots movement for social change and solidarity month nations. £361 raised through Just giving, plus £55 cash. Altogether £416 so far. THANK YOU.
