    Story

The importance of raising fertility awareness

This year IVF babble will host the first ever World Fertility Day – and we want you there with us to celebrate in the 40th year of IVF.

With 1 in 6 people worldwide experiencing fertility issues there is no room for the isolation and silence.

We know that IVF and fertility treatment works for some, but not for everyone, which is why talking about your own story will help normalise infertility and rid society of any taboo or shame attached to the word.

Over the past year we have met so many amazing people in the fertility community and we want to celebrate each and every one of you – whatever your story.

We know how you feel, we know the heartache and torture and the uncertainty. And we also know that more needs to be done to break the silence and get a global conversation started.

Join us on November 2, 2018 to celebrate the first annual World Fertility Day

We will be hosting our biggest ever event on Friday, November 2.. For our Central London event, at the wonderful Little Italy in Soho, we will be taking calls and giving access to all those experiencing fertility issues to leading global experts joining us on the day.

Direct phone lines will be available for each expert and related country and Louise Brown, the World’s first IVF baby, will be there with us and for you too!

Questions received on social media via Instagram and Facebook will be answered in real time.

If you have any questions you would like to ask on email, just send them to us and we will ask them on the day.

From 12 October, we will also be publishing a ‘donate’ text number with funds being donated to Babble Giving and Fertility Network UK. For calls outside of the country, any funds raised will go to that country’s national fertility charity.

World Fertility Day is an initiative founded by IVFbabble.com and our new charity being launched in November, BabbleGiving.org, to give people across the globe the opportunity to raise awareness of the 48.5 million couples living with infertility.

World Fertility Day is about education, empowerment and understanding

The day will highlight the importance of breaking the silence that has existed for too long, to realise that we are not alone, to stop living in isolation, to break barriers across cultures, to empower people with fertility knowledge to enable informed decisions to be made en route to parenthood.

Why have we launched World Fertility Day?

IVFbabble.com founders, Tracey Bambrough and Sara Marshall-Page have each been on a fertility journey, both of which were successful. But along that road they felt very alone, with little information available or any other fellow sufferers to talk to. This is something they have been working hard to change and the exact reason why World Fertility Day is such an important awareness day.

    How can you get involved?

We will be hosting our event in London and have invited leading fertility experts in every field across the globe to join us to offer their knowledge. If you would like to join us, just email us on wfd@ivfbabble.com.

If you can’t join us, why not host your own breakfast, coffee morning, lunch, dinner or drinks to mark the day and call in to ask our global experts any fertility questions you may have.

We are encouraging people across the globe to mark the day. Let us know where you are holding your event and we will add to worldfertilityday.com

Ultimately we want you to celebrate World Fertility Day by supporting each other and sharing experiences that empower people, reaching across political and cultural boundaries in meaningful ways.

We will be using the hashtag #WorldFertilityDay and hope it will be trending on every social media platform on November 2.

Join us to help or help fundraise - and together let's take action to end the silence of infertility.

Downloads will be available from 10 October 2018 here with ideas on events you can organise and invitations you can send out too.

Let’s join together to raise awareness and to break the silence and to raise such necessary funds to help all those struggling in silence.
