    Story

Help raise funds for Wolo Foundation and join the entire country and do the 2.6 Challenge to help save the UK's charities. The 2.6 Challenge is a new national fundraising campaign recently created to help minimise the loss of income that charities will see as a result of events being cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19.

The campaign will launch on Sunday 26 April 2020 – on what would have been the 40th London Marathon, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019. The challenge will last for a week.

From Sunday 26 April 2020, we are asking you to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise by donating £26 to Wolo Foundation.

The 2.6 Challenge can be any activity you like – from running 2.6 miles to holding an online workout with 26 of your friends, hopping around the house or running up and down the stairs 26 times!

Whatever your age or ability, you can take part. After all, we’re not looking for superheroes. We’re looking for Home Heroes. The only requirement is that the activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing - remember to stay local too.

Choose your #TwoPointSixChallenge, donate £26 to Wolo Foundation and complete your challenge!

    It’s really simple to get involved, just follow these five easy steps;

    1. Come up with your 2.6 (or 26) challenge (here you get the chance to be creative, get your thinking caps on!)

    2. Donate £26 to Wolo Foundation here

    3. Share your challenge with friends, family and colleagues – encourage them to support you and donate too or come up with their own challenge

    4. Complete your challenge

    5. Share your photos and videos using the hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge – don’t forget to tag us using @thewolofoundation so we can see all of your efforts and cheer you on virtually!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

🌟Walk or run 26 miles or 2.6k in your garden

🌟 Run up and down the stairs 26 times

    🌟 Skip for 26 minutes non-stop

🌟Challenge yourself to eat 26 items within a set amount of times

    🌟Do 260 star jumps

🌟Put 26 layers of clothing on

    🌟Hula Hoop for 26 minutes

Thank you for your support, have fun and good luck!

    Who are Wolo Foundation?

Wolo Foundation support local families affected by cancer. They do this by offering practical help and support to help them through their cancer diagnosis.

SInce the Covid-19 pandemic, those havIng treatment for cancer are ‘shielding’. They are classed as clinically extremely vulnerable - meaning they are advised not to leave their home for a period of at least 12 weeks.

Wolo Foundation have adapted their usual services since the outbreak and have been working with local suppliers and putting together food hampers, as well as sending out activity packs to help keep their children amused during lock down. These have been a godsend to the families we are supporting.

Funds are being used to continue supplying the essentials to these families. If you know anyonen living in Sussex that is affected by cancer and has children under 18, please let us know so that we can begin to offer them support too.
