Story

Thank you for looking at our page!

Women in Travel cic is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting vulnerable women by using Travel and Tourism as a force for good. We support, mentor, train and introduce to employment marginalised and vulnerable women who may have refugee status; who might have experienced modern slavery; who might be homeless.

Covid-19, however, is rapidly changing the definition of 'vulnerable'. Women in Travel is having to focus on helping women until recently working in the sector, but now unemployed and without income due to the pandemic. With no travel allowed, hotels, restaurants and all other leisure establishments shut down, the sector has been hit very hard and many women, often with contract or part time roles have been quickly let go. With women making up

around 60% of the industry workforce, there is no doubt that many more women will need our support!

Many still have commitments around childcare and are in single parent households. Most worry about paying rent and whether their skills will be relevant in a post‐pandemic world.

We are working hard to meet the needs of our beneficiaries as much as we can. But we too are suffering the impact of this pandemic. With our trading income almost entirely decimated, we need your support to continue offering our valuable services to our vulnerable beneficiaries!

Anything you donate will go directly towards supporting women beneficiaries. Your funds will help them find the confidence; access skills and identify opportunities to gain economic and personal empowerment.

Thank you for your support!
