Story
In recent years, we (ECOE Advice) have been generously supported in our Winter Warmth campaign with donations to our Hardship Fund. We are seeking donations again this year, to help us quickly respond to urgent needs in the community.
This year for the first time since 2021, our usual funded routes to support broken heating repairs and replacements have ended prematurely (higher demand than usual). And we only have 1 funded white goods scheme available this year instead of 2. We are experiencing high levels of demand with fewer solutions available.
Winter is an especially challenging time for families already struggling with energy poverty, leaving many to battle illness, hunger, and mounting debt. Vulnerable groups, including the elderly and those with health issues, face even greater risks of isolation and hardship as the temperatures drop.
With the incredible support of past donors, we’ve been able to make a meaningful difference in our community. Your generosity has helped local families replace broken cookers and fridges, complete essential household repairs, top up prepay meters, and put food on the table with vouchers. Donations have also provided carpets, helped with urgent debts, and delivered winter warmth essentials like heated blankets and plug-in heaters.
We couldn’t have done all of this without your generous support. A small donation can make a huge difference to a person’s life, health, and happiness.
This year, the need is greater than ever. Many households are facing unbearable financial pressures, with rising energy bills, cuts to winter fuel payments, and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. We are grateful for all of your support – even the smallest of donations can help us to make a real difference in the local community.
