Story

Christmas is supposed to be a time for joy and celebration, and it’s at this time of year we, as members of the Lantern Arts Centre (Raynes park), put on silly costumes, dance, act, sing and do things like pantomimes.

However, given the current state of affairs, we aren’t able to do all the dramatic activities that we would normally do at Christmas (and we are still desperate to dress up) so instead we hope to spread Christmas cheer this year in a slightly different way.

The Wimbledon Elf Initiative (Or WEI for short) is looking to collect new, boxed Christmas gifts for the children of families in need. If you are able to donate presents, we have collection points set up at the Wimbledon Village Stables, Village Market, Wimbledon Artisan Market and at the Babylon Cafe in Raynes Park.

Secondly, but just as importantly, we are raising money for the Wimbledon Food Bank Christmas Dinner appeal to ensure all those who may not otherwise be able to afford one, can have a Christmas dinner.

Thank you in advance and watch out for elves - we get around!

Signed,

'Enry Elf
