Story

Our brave son William passed away in December 2019 following a short battle with sepsis. William was 6 years old and had battled since birth having been born with a complex disease called Total Intestinal Aganglionosis Hirschsprungs. Essentially his bowel didn't work, meaning he was fed intravenously Total Parenteral Nutrition. This had an impact on his liver and as such he was listed for multi organ transplant. Unfortunately he never received his call.

We know William touched a lot of lives in his short time here and we want that to continue.  We have therefore been working hard to set up a charity in William's name.

The idea has come from our own experiences of life with a long term medical condition.  The charity is called William's Gift and we will be providing care packages to children in hospital with bowel and TPN conditions.

We have 2 types of packages, one for emergency/ unexpected admissions which will include essentials such as toiletries/ snacks etc. The other package is for those who are in hospital long term and will include things to give a little psychological boost such as toys, books, gift vouchers etc.

We are initially covering the 2 main Children's hospitals in the North West of England, Alder Hey and Manchester.

In order to fund the care packages we will be arranging/ taking part in various fund raising events.  The first one being an endurance running challenge which I has booked for August 2020. It is a 24 hour running challenge! I have already started my training. This is a massive challenge for me. I would welcome any donations.
