Story
The current situation we find ourselves in, caused by COVID-19, has had devastating consequences on the homeless and vulnerable people in our cities. Not only do they have nothing to eat and nowhere to go to wash or use WC facilities, the economic fallout has seen an increase in the number of people living on our streets.
The aim of Under One Sky is to restore a sense of humanity to these forgotten men and women. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the public, Under One Sky has the additional funds and volunteers to increase the 200+ meals they already serve every night.
With additional funds they can expand their reach to other parts of London and start addressing some of the other basic hygiene and clothing needs of this vulnerable community.
The meal provided by Under One Sky is often the only thing that they will eat.
Having watched Captain Tom, I would like to do something to help as well and so I am going to attempt to climb up and down my staircase in our home, the equivalent to climbing up to the very top and back down to the bottom of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest peak!
The summit is 1,345m (4,413 ft), which means climbing to the top of our stairs 495 times, which is 8,415 steps up and 8,415 steps down. Mummy and Daddy are helping with my training, as is Joe Wicks every morning!
Please sponsor me if you can. Anything you give will ALL go directly to the homeless, as Under One Sky is entirely volunteer based.
I am so excited and will let you know when I have reached the top!
Thank you so much, love Wilbur
