#WiganHoops is a community project that is raising money to renovate the basketball court at Mesnes Park in Wigan.

The court at Mesnes Park is extremely popular and well used by the local community. However, both the surface and equipment are damaged and desperately require investment.

Basketball is one of the fastest growing and inclusive sports in England and approx. 250000 people play the game at least twice a month. Basketball Ball England is helping many courts across the UK to be refurbished via its Project Swish initiative, Platt Fields and Hulme Park in Manchester are two examples locally of what has already been achieved through the initiative in the North West.

Not everyone can play rugby or football. But everyone; male, female, white, black, young, or old can throw a basketball and enjoy the benefits of scoring hoops.
