    Story

Widden Street Soccer is a Football Association (FA) affiliated and Gloucestershire FA Charter Standard Club of the Year (2016 - 2017). The Club was established in 2014 as part of Widden+ (Widden Primary School) to provide opportunities for boys and girls of primary school age to access football. The club is a vehicle to provide greater social development and learning opportunities for children from a range of schools in the local area. The club currently competes in the local Mid Glos Mini Soccer League and enters a range of tournaments to provide additional opportunities for the children.

Without this football club many of the children we support would not be able to access structured football. The local area is extremely deprived and disadvantaged. Many of the children we support have English as an additional language and this is an excellent opportunity to help them engage with the wider community. The club does not charge the children or their families any money to take part in any training, games, or other activities.

This coming season we plan to organise our first football tour. This is to ensure that the children receive similar experiences to children who play in other grassroots clubs. We have organised to travel to Holland where we will play Feyenoord Rotterdam Academy and ADO Den Haag Academy in the Easter holidays. We also plan to visit several local historical and cultural sites.

We are really keen to raise the money required to cover the cost of this trip and provide an excellent learning opportunity for some of our children.

If you are able to donate to this wonderful cause we would be extremely grateful.
