West Park RUFC – FUNDRAISING PLANS

West Park Rugby Club have recently received a grant of £12,000 from the ‘Tesco charity project’ in St Helens. The club are planning to put the money towards a new training area for the ‘mini’ and junior players.

However, the full cost of the work planned is £22,000. The drainage systems will cost £9,000, grounds work will cost £6,000, fencing and safety precautions will cost £3000-£4000 and lighting up the area will cost £4000. This means that £10,000 needs to be raised in order for the plans to go ahead!

The work that will be done is to make the area safer and more user friendly, for example at the moment the area is made up of rocks from foundations when Carmel College was built and has made the ground extremely un-even.

As you can see from the pictures below, this work will help to expand West Park Rugby Club and ultimately give the players of all ages somewhere safe and dry to train in the winter.


West Park Rugby Club have set up this page so that people can make donations that will go towards a very good cause in the heart of the community.

Throughout the next few months West Park will be raffling prizes off to those who have donated each month, such as Tickets to the cinema, bowling, ice skating, paint balling or meals out at restaurants such as Frankie and Bennies, but there are many prizes to be confirmed.

The players and coaches at West Park are also willing to a lot of their own Fundraising in the form of events (which are to be confirmed in the forthcoming months), sponsored walks or Fundraising/family days at the club.
