    Story

In an age of ever increasing availability of technology, reading for pleasure holds just as many, if not more, benefits to children, and the literacy lead at Weedon Bec Primary School is really passionate about giving the children the best possible opportunity to really fall in love with reading. Their exciting new 'Reading Barge' is due for competition this Spring but before it was be used it needs stocking with beautiful new children's books. We all know that budgets are tight in Schools and unfortunately that means there isn't always enough funding for the Schools to have all the books that they'd like or need.

So now it's up to us to do all we can to provide these 4-11 year olds with, educational, inspiring and wonderful books that will continue to ignite that love of reading in so many children for years to come! I'm an Independent Usborne Organiser with the means to really make a difference, not just to the current pupils at Weedon Bec Primary School, but to those starting in years to come. With over 200 pupils on roll, who will have access to these new books, one small donation could create really big ripples!

I'm seeking local businesses and anyone in the community to make donations to ensure their bookshelves aren't left empty!

In addition to the money raised here, Usborne Books at Home will donate up to an additional 60% in FREE books. SO FOR EVERY £10 DONATED, THAT COULD MEAN AN ADDITIONAL £6 IN FREE BOOKS. My target of £1000 would actually mean £1600 worth of books for the new Reading Barge library. Any donation is greatly appreciated and really will make a difference to the children.
