Yana Cocha is an independent animal shelter on the outskirts of Puyo, Ecuador. The centre relies on tourists to visit the park and volunteer contribution from around the world.

As the coronavirus continues to affect the world, Ecuador has decided to close their airports and limit the disease from spreading. This has meant that no volunteers are able to enter the country to work and the park has had to close its doors to visitors to avoid any further spread of the disease. This means that the centre has lost both revenue streams and is unable to pay for the essential supplies to feed and maintain the animals.

10 volunteers from around the world have chosen to stay at the centre and continue to work for the benefit of the animals, however as the supply of money falls, we are in desperate need of donations to pay for the upkeep of the shelter and keep these animals and volunteers safe.
