Story
Many of us may experience suicidal feelings at some point in our life, however, thankfully most of us know that these feelings are temporary, and moods eventually shift. Feeling low, anxious or perhaps struggling to cope can sometimes be an issue for a long period of time with some people. Suicide is complex and rarely caused by one thing, that is why getting the right kind of support at the right time is so important.
Sometimes just by gaining a strong sense of connection with friends and family or by feeling a strong sense of social connection by engaging with nature, arts, sports and other activities will be enough to lift the mood of people having suicidal thoughts. Others may need a bit more intervention and would benefit from engaging in easily accessible, professional, counselling sessions at their time of need.
Having sadly lost family members, close friends, and colleagues to suicide myself, and know what it feels like with struggling to cope at times in my own life, I am passionate about making a difference within my local community and want to help the vulnerable to get through any bad times they may be going through to get to a happier place.
WaterWell Foundation is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that has been specifically incorporated to promote social interaction to encourage a healthier mental health wellbeing with suicide prevention being the focus. Our staff and volunteers will be creating and collaborating with other community groups to help people gain social connections, and, we will provide support to families and friends of vulnerable people by providing training and supplying information of how to deal with loved ones having suicidal thoughts or wanting to hurt themselves. We will have a varied counselling support service for the vulnerable (adults, children, veterans etc) that will also encompass a bereavement support service to support the mental health wellbeing of people suffering with grief.
Fulfilling a social inclusion connection will be a difficult task during these unprecedented times brought on by the global Covid-19 pandemic, however, all the team at WaterWell Foundation will still strive to engage with the community as much as possible. We will interact with all age groups and engage with individuals and other organisations such as schools, colleges and employers that care about the wellbeing of their workforce.
By donating to our cause, you will really make a difference. Just £10 per month would help us reach out and provide a continued support network to someone in need. No matter how large or small your contribution is, every penny will be used for such a good cause.
Thank you for caring
