The Warm Baby Project Just Giving Page was set up in April 2018 with the purpose of raising money to be able to supply wool for knitters to make make blankets and hats for premature babies in our local hospital. We rely totally upon the donations we receive of wool and money to keep our knitters stocked with wool and for postage to send out our parcels to the hospitals. Any donation is gratefully received no matter how small and it ensures we can continue the project to donate the gorgeous things our knitters send to us.

This is our second Just Giving Page, as each page is only able to run for 3 months at a time. Our first page raised an amazing £260, which has already all been put into use for wool for our knitters and is already keeping babies warm across the country!

The response from the public was and still is overwhelming. We have gone from one knitter making for one Hospital to over 80 knitters from all over the country and knitting for over 20 hospitals. Our knitters never cease to amaze us with their generosity and the beautiful items they lovingly knit. We supply blankets, cardigans, hats and bonding squares . We also make up ‘Going home packs’ for babies when they are well enough to be discharged as often parents cannot buy items tiny enough for babies who have been premature.

We have responded to appeals for ‘traffic light hats’ from various hospitals and recently were able to supply a London Hospital with bonding squares when their stocks ran out.

We have a Facebook page which regularly shows all of the items we have received and also some of the babies who have benefited from our knitters lovely items at what is often a very difficult and stressful time for parents, who haven't had time to think about tiny items they will need when their baby is born prematurely.
