Story

Meet Walt! He's my 17 year old son. He's a very enthusiastic and caring young man, who loves the outdoors and nature. He's also very lucky - he's been offered an incredible opportunity to go on a research-conservation field trip to South Africa this summer as part of his biology studies. He's determined to raise as many funds as possible in all kinds of cool ways (as the field trip is self-funded), so he's doing a 12-hour crochet-marathon (like running, but crochet!) and hopes you'll be able to cheer him on and support him! Every donation, even a pound or two will make all the difference and will keep him crocheting all day! Every penny Walt raises during his marathon 12 hours of crochet goes towards this expedition. Here's Walt in his own words:

Hi, I'm Walt! I'm so excited to be going to South Africa on a research trip with a brilliant non-profit organisation called Operation Wallacea. The aim of the expedition is to find and research new species of plants and animals. During our 2-week stay, we will spend one week in the bush, tracking and documenting local flora and fauna, and one week at the coast of Sodwana Bay, observing and recording marine life. This JustGiving page is devoted to me raising funds in order to make this trip of a lifetime possible. Thank you so much for supporting me on my 12 hour crochet marathon. Walt
