Story

Nick was a brave, kind and caring man who always had a smile on his face despite the pain he endured on a daily basis.

After suffering in silence for over 4 years Nick decided to share his struggle with the debilitating disease Ulcerative Colitis in a Facebook post in early January. Click here to view.

At just the age of 33 he courageously made the huge decision to have his large bowel removed. Nick was admitted to hospital on December 17th and had major surgery on December the 19th.

Following an 8 hour long procedure he recovered in hospital before being allowed to return home to his girlfriend Charlotte and her children on Christmas Eve.

Nick died on Christmas Day in 2019 following unexpected complications of his surgery.

He was one of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever wish to meet. The fact he was brave enough to share his story attracted local, regional and national attention and we know he wouldn't want others to suffer in silence.

We want to support those people he wanted to help. As a result, this fund has been set up in his memory, to help those closest to him and those suffering with Crohns and Colitis.
