"Water you doing?"
Vitamin Sea is proud to present - a truly bonkers challenge! Georgie, Alex, Nina, Francesca, James & Thea will swim the channel in June
We're braving the waves, jellyfish, cold-water-with-no wetsuits (an o-fish-al Channel Swim requirement!), a 12+ hour, 21 mile/33km swim because we love a challenge, but mainly because we are excited to raise money for some amazing charities to support truly life changing work.
Your money will be divided equally between our chosen charities, so please have a look at our list below, and donate!
In return, we promise live tracking of the swim, highly unflattering photos of us all covered in goose fat, and well as our deepest thanks.

Your sponsorship will support these oar-some causes:
James will be swimming for Cool Earth (www.coolearth.org). "Climate change is the biggest issue facing every organism (including humans) on the planet. If we don't do something as a species, we're all screwed...and every little helps! This charity helps reforestation while also protecting lands of indigenous peoples, helping to remove co2 from the atmosphere. Please donate!"
Georgie will be swimming for the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal (www.dec.org.uk). "Over 17 million people have been affected as a result of the recent earthquake, and although the immediate rescue efforts are coming to a close, hundreds of thousands are desperately in need of shelter, food and medical assistance, and will need humanitarian assistance for months if not years to come. Having lived in Gaziantep from 2016-17 and with friends affected, this is a very personal cause so please give what you can!"
Alex will be swimming for the Pimlico Puffins (https://pimlicopuffins.org.uk/): "Pimlico Puffins is a swimming club for those who have a learning or physical disability who would like to learn to swim or exercise in the water. All ages, size, shapes and characters are welcome to come and enjoy swimming. I discovered Puffins whilst swimming at the same pool in 2017 and have been volunteering with them most Monday evenings since then. Meeting all the different swimmers and helping people to enjoy swimming and being in the water as much as I do has been hugely rewarding. What they do is so simple but so precious to those who it serves and I am thrilled to be raising money to ensure they continue to have the resources and ability to continue."
Nina will be swimming for VetLife (https://www.vetlife.org.uk/): "Vetlife is a fantastic charity which provides much-needed emotional, financial and mental health support to the members of the veterinary community. Their service is unfortunately invaluable in a profession that continues to experience significantly higher levels of depression and suicide than the general population. Recent studies have shown that almost 70% of vets have lost a colleague or peer to suicide, and in the past year Vetlife has seen a 236% increase in calls for its services. Vetlife really does save lives and it relies purely on donations to fund these vital support services."
Thea will be swimming for the Mityana Charity (https://mityanacharity.org/): "I went to Mityana, Uganda aged 14, and it's fair to say that visit has influenced my career choices ever since. Mityana Charity funds the relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the relief of sickness, the advancement of religion and the promotion of sustainable development in the area of Mityana (Kibogo & Mubende) Uganda. I've seen first hand the work that they do, been lucky enough to go back to Uganda few times), and I'm excited to continue to support their work"
Francesca will be swimming for Ogyre (https://ogyre.com/), the first digital platform to foster ocean regeneration through fishing for litter: "Swimming the channel got me thinking about the terrible state of our oceans and plastic pollution, and after a lot of research, this is one of the most effective organisations in ocean clean up. Ogyre rely on a network of fishermen to clean the ocean by collecting litter and actively tracking our progress every day – they empower people and companies to contribute to the mission by directly support the fishermen of their fleet, and believe collective action can drive change that is necessary to build a better future, for us and our planet."
