Galaxy Foundation Please support us in raising funds and resources for Galaxy Gurukul - a new school located in Kolkata, India offering free education, uniforms, books, nutrition, health check-ups and counselling to 80 underprivileged students from Reception to Year 6. The aim is to accommodate 600 students in the future and increase their education to the GCSE level with better amenities such as an amazing library and IT equipment. The founding organisation (Galaxy Foundation) has planned three thrilling and challenging fundraising campaigns to raise funds for this noble cause.

Details of the 3 challenges

• Everest Base Camp Trek Charity Challenge: This is a 135 km trek at 18000 feet above sea level. The Jayaswal family of four (including daughter Tarannum, 14 years old and son Vivaan 10 years old) will embark on a 14-day trek to the base of the world’s highest mountain in November 2023.

• #HIKE4GALAXY MOUNT SNOWDON FUNDRAISER – Team #HIKE4GALAXY and Team #UNSPOKEN will be taking a huge group of supporters up the biggest mountain in Wales, Mount Snowdon on Saturday 16th September in support of the Galaxy Gurukul fundraiser. Please show your support as they aim to develop future learning and opportunities at Galaxy Gurukul through their efforts.

• #HIKE4GALAXY STAIRCLMBER CHALLENGE - Jack Clarke, Coach of the Jayaswal family will be in support of the mammoth Everest Base Camp challenge by conquering the height of Mount Everest on a stair climber! On Friday, October 6th, he will be attempting to climb a staggering 44,250 steps, equivalent to the height of the world's tallest peak in a completion time of under 13 hours! Vikash and Madhurita Jayaswal are the directors of Galaxy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that founded and initiated the journey of Galaxy Gurukul. The Jayaswals are both successful chartered accountants who immigrated to the UK and established a property investment business - Galaxy of Homes. However, they never forgot their humble origins and their dream of providing quality education to the poor children of Kolkata, where Vikash was born and raised by his widowed mother. They registered Galaxy Foundation in the UK as a community interest company and set up Galaxy Gurukul in Madhyamgram, Kolkata.
