Nickie is my cousin, but also a great friend. 19 years ago, she gave birth to twins, Natalie and Kathryn, and from birth, it was quickly apparent that Natalie wasn't thriving as well as Kathryn. Natalie was diagnosed with liver disease and underwent her first surgery at 10 weeks old. When the girls were a bit older, the family emigrated to Canada, where they still live.

Natalie has always struggled with her health, but has always been a fighter!! She has raised over $10,000 for a charity she set up to help other people, mostly children, with the same disease - biliary artresia.

Natalie's health has really deteriorated recently and she is now on the liver transplant list, waiting for that call. It could come at any moment, or conversely, she might be waiting for a while. Once the operation has taken place, this is where you come in!

I am really kindly asking for any donations, not for the transplant itself, but to support Natalie, her sister Kathryn and Mum Nickie, to get through the operation and have treatment. The Canadian health service, whilst amazing - like the NHS - doesn't stretch to accommodation costs, rehab support or general ongoing living costs whilst Natalie is in hospital, recovering from her transplant. Nickie won't be able to work whilst Natalie is in hospital, therefore won't be earning anything.

I know that Nickie and our wider family will be extremely grateful for whatever donation you give, it will mean the world to me to be able to do this for Nickie and her family, especially when she is so far away.
