Story
On 11th January our climbing buddy Glenn slipped and broke his ankle on a snowy crag on a sunny Cairngorm:

CMRT co-ordinated a rescue plan to lift him and me off the crag, and we want to raise some cash so they can keep going to provide an amazing, free, completely unpaid service not only to hillwalkers and climbers on the mountains, but to anyone who needs them, in a huge area of one of Scotland’s most wild and inaccessible places.
We are not novices.
We were prepared and equipped and we never thought we’d ever need Mountain Rescue, but without their help we would have had an awful tough trip down the crag, the approach slopes, the boulder field……..
So!
On 13th Feb 2018 director of the Stand Comedy Clubs and part-time climbing instructor Kenny O’Brien (me!) will spend a birthday he might otherwise have missed with friend, artist, former employee and registered actual genuine hero Gregor Morrison. They will climb a vertical mile wearing kilts at the EICA Ratho using the full height of EICA’s impressive 30m wall, over and over……
That’s a lot of up and down.
Climbing will require strong arms, belaying will require strong stomachs.
Are they true Scotsmen? Well they’re both thrawn, dour, short and thrive on misery…………………..
If we hit £500 we’ll take our tops off! If we double it we’ll put them back on!
Think of it as a birthday present if you like, or an investment in someone else’s life, or leg, or lover.
Go on, gies a tenner.
Thanks.
Kenny, Gregor and Glenn
