To raise money for The South Range Project at Pluscarden Abbey, I will be taking part in a pilgrimage which will be the same one as the early Valliscaulian Monks did from Burgundy to Pluscarden and covers a distance of approximately 1230 miles.

The pilgrimage will be taking place from the 5 June to 3 September 2017. It will be broken down into 12 legs of roughly 100 miles and a final leg of 80 miles. Each leg will be covered by a different group of pilgrims, with a maximum of 20 on each leg. The days for walking will be from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday as a day of rest and worship. A stone from the original abbey at Val des Choux will be carried throughout the pilgrimage and will constitute the foundation stone of the new South Range.

I will be taking part in week 3 (19 to 25 June), the way of St Simon the Zealot. I will be walking 102 miles beginning at Brienne-le-Chateau and finishing at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Laon.

I would be grateful if you would sponsor me to walk 102 miles of the pilgrimage and help me raise £2,460 for Pluscarden Abbey.

All donations will go towards helping Pluscarden Abbey rebuild the medieval monastery’s south range, enable visitors to enjoy the unique environment while preserving the peace and seclusion necessary for the monastic life and to make the monastic library available to the public.
