In the early hours of the 14th June our family’s lives changed for ever. The fire at Grenfell Tower did the same for so many people, our local community, people we grew up with, went to school with, children who did the same with our children.

Those who survived will be left with unfaceable psychological scars and a sense of unbelievable loss. Whilst our ability to help ease the pain and heal the scars is limited, we can help in practical ways.

My uncle and his family have suffered devastating loss, my cousin Jessica Urbano is still missing and we still have no further information. This situation is heart wrenching and it is the sole focus of her surviving parents and sister. Whilst the rest of the family have rallied round and provided moral and practical support we ask for help to try to start to rebuild their lives.

Having lived on the 20th floor of Grenfell Tower, they have been left with nothing of their former lives, absolutely nothing.

The generosity of friends and total strangers has been completely humbling and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our appeal has reached the original conservative target, and we recognise that there are so many families in exactly the same situation as us. We therefore want to keep our original stated target but ask if you are able to continue donating it would be much appreciated. Rebuilding their lives will take a lot more than money but it will help start the healing process by providing them the essentials when they eventually are rehoused.
