Story
United Malayalee Organization, (UMO) sincerely thank you all for your immense support that you have been offering until now during these unforeseen circumstances of the Covid19 Pandemic.
Since March 15th, we have managed to offer our comprehensive support to the entire needy expatriate from Kerala, through 24 hours helpline services including free medical, legal, financial, social and emotional support. This was managed by the help of a group of doctors, nurses, social workers and a team of volunteers including professionals and non professionals. Our voluntary services have gained wide acceptance and popularity in a very short period of time and we are very proud to share that we have managed to reach into the heart of all the UK Malayali families who lives in the UK. Our various services have been used by number of families all over the UK and we continue to deliver our services until we overcome these unprecedented circumstances.
But more to address now, as there have been lots of concern on the well being of students from Kerala who lives in the UK. We have been informed that there are hundreds of students from India/Kerala are stranded in the UK and struggling to meet their daily needs. The government of India has only started the repatriation process for the stranded students and there has been raising concerns reported from various regions that the students are struggling to pay their rent due to jobless, they are left without any food and struggling to meet their basic needs. But we know that there are lot of helping hands working all over in the UK to support our students. However, as a recognised and responsible organisation, we believe that we also have a duty to support our students until they are safely return to Kerala or back to their normal studies or job.
In order to facilitate this we are kindly seeking a fund raising request from our members and all UK Malayalees with an open heart to generate a fund to support our students for food, rent and needy things.
We assure you that the funds generated will be handover directly to students or organisations that are currently helping students in the various regions.
