Turkey has been struck by two earthquakes in the same region and at least 120 aftershocks.

It is a disaster of unprecedented scale.

Search and rescue teams are working to their full potential, sadly the situation is out of their capacities, due to the number of ruins and the wide region the destruction has spread. The survivors are enduring winter conditions, while people under the ruins are facing the possibility of freezing before the rescue teams reach them.

This is the country's largest disaster since 1939; more than 2,818 buildings have collapsed as a result.

Urgent help is required to reach those hit by this tragedy.
