Big things start with simple ideas and this is one of them!

WHAT WE ARE UP TO:

A dedicated Tulips supporter, Kurt Duffield, decided that he was going to challenge himself to walk a marathon a day for one week during Pink October 2024 in aid of Tulips. A fantastic idea that needed both planning and support.

Sue offered to be Kurt’s back up with his nutrition and hydration needs. So far so good however, during the conversation Sue, unexpectedly, offered to manage the support on a bicycle and would be cycling a minimum of a marathon a day. This was not really part of the original plan however an idea was borne so Sue asked Lynda to join her. It was a good job she said yes because the bikes had already been organised! Both Lynda and Sue had been complaining about their weight gain and lack of exercise since the Blister Sisters in 2019 so here is their chance to take back control.

A simple idea is now a major challenge and we both blame Kurt 😊

We are all past the age of being natural athletes. None of us have a spring in our step that would match that of a gazelle. So, we do need encouragement to cover the miles then hopefully by October they will not seem so long!

Every step Kurt makes on his 'heels' and every extra pedal push Lynda and Sue make on their 'wheels' will be a step closer to making a difference in the life of someone affected by cancer as well as spreading awareness during Pink October.

A GOOD REASON TO SUPPORT US:

Every 2nd day a new cancer patient walks through the doors or the Tulips office. As at January 2024, Tulips is looking after 14,800 patients.

We need to support Tulips, who knows it could be any one of us one day
