Story

The Tudor Mindful Garden

The area situated next to Tudor Hall and Library has posed a challenge for the council for many years and was specifically highlighted in the Neighbourhood Character Study published in 2011.

Our plan is to transform this eyesore into a community asset that provides benefits to all. While the primary focus will be on creating a community garden, it is designed to offer year-round space for gardening and mindfulness activities such as Tai Chi and yoga and:

Enhancing the Tudor Library's role as a community hub

Improving the environment around the library

Opening a new green space for the community

Providing an outdoor area for community activities

Offering facilities for local schools for workshops and other activities

Creating a private, safe space for individuals who may suffer from mental health issues or are vulnerable

We are a group of volunteers working to make the library a vibrant community hub. In the past, we have completely transformed the outside area of the library by planting fruit trees, hedges, and several vegetable beds. Now, we would like to improve the area next to Tudor Hall.
