raised of £2,600 target by 29 supporters

Iʼve raised £1,022 to ensure we have a fully-stocked pub when we re-open. Sadly our commercial landlord is insisting that we pay rent during lockdown.

    Background:

Our commercial landlord (Punch Taverns aka Punch Pubs & Co) is insisting that its tenants pay full rent (some are getting a tiny discount) for the duration of lockdown. Our rent is based on normal turnover, but we have no turnover at this time. Sadly when this rent is taken into account, we don't have much money left.

We'll use all money donated to buy real stock to refill the pub's cellar and store rooms when a re-opening date is confirmed.

If Punch Taverns change their stance on rent, the money will be used to repay other debts at The Trevelyan Arms.

If surplus funds are received, staff will be paid the additional 20% of their wages lost through lockdown/furlough.

If excess donations are received after the above, surplus money will be donated by The Trevelyan Arms to Goldsithney Charter Fair (a village community carnival).

Thanks again for all the support. We didn't quite reach the target, but with additional borrowing from the government loan scheme, we'll survive for now! The news you have all been waiting for: The winners of our "thank you" prize (chosen using random.org) are Mark and Julie Bramwell (which statistically makes sense!) They'll be contacted very soon. This page will soon be closed.

Some good news: Our landlord has agreed to waive 3 weeks of lockdown rent, but is still insisting that we pay for the first 12 weeks. 100% rent on 0% turnover. Thatcher's cider have kindly agreed to send us a free keg of Haze when we re-open. In line with the above, we have amended our target slightly.

Shame we are not with Hall & Woodhouse - it looks like they care about their pubs.
