The Rhondda loves rugby and so does Hope Church! So when we received a text from Treherbert RFC asking if Hope Church Rhondda would consider being the main sponsor for the 2019/2020 season we considered it a privilege!!

It might seem unusual for a church to sponsor a sports team but there are loads of reasons why we think it's a great plan:

1. Last year the team didn't find a main sponsor so the players had to pay towards their kit. It's great to be able to help meet this need and bless this community which we love.

2. We are in the process of starting a new church congregation for the people of Treorchy and Treherbert and we hope that having our logo on kit, programs, banners etc will help to spread the word and give us some credibility.

3. Two young men who have come to faith in the last few years are playing for the team. We want to support them as they represent Jesus on the rugby field.

4. Valleys rugby clubs are the pride of valleys communities. Our prayer is that the players and supporters of Treherbert RFC won't just wear the Hope Church logo on their chests but will know the God of all hope in their hearts. We hope that this partnership will lead to real friendships through which God's love and peace and good news can be shared.
