Local trans/non-binary drag performers Sheer Obsession and Big Jay are fundraising to run a Trans Pride event at the Rising Sun Arts Centre, intended to be an 18+ after party to the main Reading Pride on Saturday 3rd September. We want to create a safe and inclusive space to celebrate underrepresented individuals in our community, who are proudly gender non-conforming, and may not feel connected to mainstream Pride celebrations.

In order to keep this event free entry, we require funding to cover the event fees. We have already raised £65 through an the Summer Art Market at the Rising Sun, and this will be added to our total.

The breakdown of the £800 we are asking for is as follows:

£200 producer/host fee (split between Sheer Obsession and Big Jay)

£400 performer fees (4 x £100)

£100 photographer fee

£100 decorations

We can of course do this on a smaller budget, and we will prioritise paying the trans/non-binary and gender non-conforming performers.
