I've raised £10000 to help Macmillan Cancer Support by hiking 30 miles from Lancaster Castle to Blackpool Tower & a completing a team 15,000ft skydive!

By Land, By the Sea (side) & by Air!!
Team Travis Perkins Cumbria & Lancashire are going for a double whammy!
Kicking off on land & by the seaside, on the 30th September our raring team of ramblers will be taking on a mighty hike from Lancaster Castle to Blackpool Tower! No mean feat, the trail will take us over 30 miles, across varied terrain & hopefully land the ones that make it in Blackpool Tower for a well earned cold one- or two!
And we're not stopping there..... after a weeks recovery, on a (hopefully) sunny day on the 9th October, 26 amazing (& slightly crazy) colleagues from the Travis Perkins Cumbria & Lancs team will take to the skies of Lancashire, up to 15,000 feet & selflessly plummet themselves to the ground ***dramatic drum roll please.... *** with a tandem skydive. We'll experience a 120mph rush before parachuting safely back down to earth.
Our brilliant teams consist of branch colleagues, drivers, yard colleagues, fitters, Kitchen Designers, Tool Hire colleagues, sales & Managers in order to raise funds that will help Macmillan carry on the great work they do supporting people living with cancer.
It is a cause close to many of our hearts & although the majority of us are terrified at the thought of covering that distance, & that initial step off the side, the fear doesn't come anywhere close to what far too many of us & our loved ones face when affected by cancer.
The dive costs £240 per person & every single penny raised over this will go directly to Macmillan. We welcome as many supporters to come along & watch/ support/ laugh at us all crying on the day. There will be a range of hot & cold food & drinks available to buy at the parachute club & a raffle with some great prizes to be won. We will of course end the hikeat a pub in Blackpool if anyone fancies joining us.
We also have lots of local fundraising happening from Lee Cornthwaite doing a mega 72 holes golf day, Vicky Gregson doing the September sit up challenge, brave the shaves & several branch raffles, kick a ball into a mixer challenge, cake sales & coffee mornings!
All donations no matter of size, foot rubs, piggy backs on route & words of encouragement are massively appreciated by us all, Macmillian & to those who Macmillans support is a lifeline.
Thank you
