This appeal is to help generate significant funds for Torwoodlee Golf Club through the current pandemic crisis and beyond. Torwoodlee is one of the finest parkland Golf Clubs in Scotland. It is quite simply a beautiful place for both members and visitors from all over the world to come and play golf, socialise and enjoy the scenery and wildlife.

As every golfer is aware the last few years have been a very tough time for all golf clubs across the U.K with many closing their doors recently for good due to falling member and visitor numbers. Our club is no exception to this trend and for the last few seasons the committee have been working tirelessly to shave costs to make ends meet and repay the historical financial debt incurred after becoming an 18 hole course in 1995.

2020 is our clubs 125th Anniversary year, the club had started to make some good financial progress through member subs increase, reductions in clubhouse costs and were at the stage of working on a new long term lease agreement to secure our long term future. However due to the devastating Covid19 pandemic crisis affecting us all, the club now faces an uncertain future and we therefore need as much money as possible to survive the pandemic and beyond.

Whilst life itself is more important than golf, we can now start to appreciate over this lockdown period what life would be like without golf and a club that we all love to go to. More than ever we now realise our club is part of the community and a place where we can take and enjoy regular exercise.

If you are a member, ex-member, visitor, friend of a member or anyone who simply just loves the game of golf we would be very grateful for a donation towards preserving the long term future of such a wonderful place to come and enjoy life. We realise that some people may not be in a position to give. The appeal is primarily aimed at those above, who Ironically find themselves financially better off during the current Lockdown, due to not being able to spend money at the Golf, Coffees/Teas, Pubs, Lunches, Restaurants, travel, holidays, work expenses, and many more items. We ask, can you please put some of your additional savings into this appeal fund for Torwoodlee Golf Club – i.e. something each month, from the money you are managing to save during these trying and difficult times, or a one off lump sum if you prefer.
