Iʼve raised £135 to tell Tony we miss him and support his recovery

    Story

For those of us who walk or cycle through the Meadows and have appreciated Tony's guitar and singing and who miss a cheerful chat and his kindness and warmth, here's a chance to show Tony how much we care and to return the kindness and warmth until he's able to be back on the Meadows.

I'll pass on the money to him in person, either when he's back or beforehand if someone can tell me how to meet up with him (you can send me a message through the link towards the bottom of this page).

I'll put an update on the lamp-post next to where Tony stands.

Hi everyone I visited Tony at his care home yesterday and gave him the cassette recorder and microphone that I bought with your donations. He was able to use it and we recorded 5 of his songs on to a cassette. He was really pleased to do this and very touched that so many people had donated money and sent him such warm wishes. Here's a photo of him with the cassette recorder and mic on the floor beside him. Thank you all for supporting Tony and letting him know that we miss him and his music. All the best Neil

Thank you everyone for your kind messages and donations - we've raised £110 which is amazing! I went to visit Tony today at the care home where he is recovering. He was really well and sang me some songs with his guitar. I passed on all your messages from this site and he was touched that he was missed. He would really like a cassette recorder so that he can record his songs so I will buy one with the donations that you have given. I'll let you know when I deliver it to him. Thanks Neil

I don't know Tony, but this is such a wonderful thing to read that I couldn't help but chip in. Feel better soon and well done to everyone who has been involved in his care x
