    Story

    ‘Lyttle Moments

    By Team Isabella

We are now raising money for Isabella to enjoy days out and breaks as and when her treatment allows it.

As you know Isabella was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma 8 years ago. She has relapsed 3 times and is currently having treatment that will hopefully get her into remission and enable her to access a vaccine trial in America to try to keep the disease from coming back again. As well as all of the horrible physical side effects from the treatment that Isabella’s has to endure, she also misses out on doing all of the things that most kids look forward to. Things such as going out with her friends, day trips, theatre visits and holidays, to name just a few.

Previously, the sole focus of fundraising for Isabella has been geared towards enabling Isabella to access clinical trials abroad if and when she reached remission for the vaccine trial or any future treatment identified as helping her reach remission should treatment here in the UK fail to have any response. This fundraising has been supported by Solving Kids’ Cancer, who continue to hold the funds raised for Isabella should she need to access treatment outside the UK at any time.

Now, we would like to shift the focus of fundraising. The idea of the Lyttle Moments fund is to enable Isabella to enjoy some of those special times when she is well enough and treatment allows it. We hope that each special moment that Isabella gets to experience with the funds raised will help her remain mentally strong and to beat neuroblastoma once and for all

Due to the nature of her condition, for Isabella to enjoy any ‘lyttle moments’ will, as we said, be completely dependent on her being well enough. For that reason if at any time it becomes apparent any additional funding is required for Isabella’s treatment we plan to transfer some or all of what’s left of the Lyttle Moments funds to Isabella’s treatment fund with Solving Kids’ Cancer. This is a distinct possibility again due to the aggressive nature of neuroblastoma and the difficulties in treating and curing it. Our NHS are working incredibly hard and have been for eight years now to get Isabella into remission, however the options are running out here in the UK. Research and development is happening around the world every single day and just to get Isabella into remission may mean again looking further afield around the world to give her any chance to beat neuroblastoma. This would cost us a lot of money so if any extra funds were needed for possible future treatment then saving her life would always be our priority. We will be setting up a new justgiving link specifically for ‘Lyttle Moments’ to run alongside but separately from the already set up Solving Kids Cancer justgiving link that is specifically for treatment abroad. This way anybody that wants to donate or fundraise for Isabella has a choice in where they would like any money raised to go. If you have any questions or need any clarification regarding this new direction we are going in then please message the page directly and either myself (Tony) or Mark (Isabella’s Dad) will get back to you as quickly as possible. You can also email both of us if that’s easier.

Isabella’s fundraising campaign with Solving Kids’ Cancer will remain open for those who wish to fundraise for this purpose, and for those who have already raised funds that need to be paid in.

Our fundraising for Lyttle Moments is taking place independently of Solving Kids’ Cancer.

We really do appreciate all of your continued support and hope that you can continue to help us to help Isabella to beat neuroblastoma once and for all .
