Iʼve raised £805 to remember Tony with a bench in Clissold Park & donation to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

Story
People who knew Tony had different memories of him. For his family he was a well loved brother and uncle who when he was younger ran a cafe in Finsbury Park and played for the local cricket club.
He was a well loved member of his local community throughout his life. Tony loved dogs and for his dog walking friends it was always a pleasure to bump into him with Shaka and later on with Ozzie in Clissold Park and spend some time with him.
But for everyone who knew Tony it was his love of life and that twinkle in his eye that we all remember him for.
To honour his memory his family and friends would like organise a bench in Clissold Park which we think will be a fitting tribute to this lovely man who spent so many happy times there walking his dogs.
Any extra money we raise we will donate to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home where Tony re-homed Ozzie.

3 years agoWe would like to invite you to the unveiling of Tony's bench on: Saturday 21 May at 3pm The location of the bench is on the path which runs from the memorial drinking fountain to the Robinson Crusoe gate. (Please see the photo of a map with the red dropped pin for the exact location). Could you please send a text message to Tony’s sister, Vivette (07801 889798) to let her know you are attending as there will be some fizz and nibbles provided and she would like to get an idea of numbers. Please contact her if you have any questions.

3 years agoWe would like to thank you all for being so generous and contributing towards Tony’s bench. Thanks to you we have collected enough money for the bench and also for a donation to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. We are now organising the bench in Clissold Park with Hackney Council and will keep you updated on how we are getting on. We plan to have an unveiling of the bench and will invite you all along to that event. Thank you again for your generosity

I was so sorry and sad to hear of Tony's death. We always had excellent conversations, putting the world to rights as we walked our dogs. An interesting, friendly and wise man, remembered warmly.
