Story

A small group of Chelmsford City fans are planning to continue their exploits of the past few years and walk from Bridport in Dorset, to Maidstone, in time to see the fixture between Chelmsford City and Maidstone on 30th April.

The starting point this year has been chosen as Hell's Lane, just west of Bridport. This part of the walk proved to be one of the lowest moments on any of our walks a few years ago due to the mud, rain and quickly fading light, we thought it was time to try and exorcise some of those demons.

We will be setting off on Friday 22nd and aiming to cover a total of 230 miles, carried out in relay between the walkers each day, however this year we will not be planning the routes so rigidly in advance, which we may find adds on a few miles to the total. This year we have decided to raise funds for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (https://www.ehaat.org/), who do a large amount of very important work which relies heavily on charitable funding. We are also once more raising money for Chess Homeless (https://chesshomeless.org/), a Chelmsford based charity who provide help and support to those who find themselves on hard times. As ever we will also be raising money for the Chelmsford City Supports' Club, to help them continue the good community work they have been involved in for many years.

Experience tells us this will not be easy, however very worthwhile if we can raise some funds to help these superb causes. Your support and donations are always received with utmost thanks, and really do keep us going during the wetter, colder moments of the walk!
