Story
Traffic Light System Boxing CIC- TLS Boxing CIC
"I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was." Mohammed Ali
TLS Boxing CIC was established in August 2022 to serve the residence of SW8, Vauxhall and the wider area. The gym will use boxing and associated activities to create a positive change in the lives of individuals within the community. We want to deliver regular classes for different age groups, accessible classes for those children and young people with additional needs. Eventually we want to provide mentoring for young people, including support with apprenticeships, career opportunities, create volunteering prospects and training opportunities for local people with the hope of changing peoples social or economic circumstances in a positive way.
TLS Boxing CIC has rented a derelict building from Lambeth Council. Unfortunately, the building needs a considerable amount of refurbishments to allow it be fit and functional for us to get the boxing gym fully functional. As well as the rent and utilities and the overall building works, there are numerous costly purchased required. We need new windows, a roof and a new kitchen installed; plumbing, lighting and electrical works. The building in its current state has been water damaged and been affected by the elements. All the damage will need to be fixed prior to painting and design of the new building.
The community centre hall, which is badly damaged.
The current project is estimated at around £120,000. We have applied for funding but have received none at present, so we are asking for help and support to aquire the funds. We are asking for donations for our sponsored walk. All are welcome to join us as we walk from the gym to the London Eye (Waterloo).
The current state of the kitchen.
Training in the park
Currently the children and young people are training in parks and local spaces, to keep the regular training going.
The team will be doing a sponsored walk from the gym to the London Eye (Waterloo) to raise funds and awareness, in order to generate the monies required to be able to open the doors. If you would like to join us please do contact us!
As well as the refurbishment of the building, we are looking for help with.
*Rent and utilities bills
*Insurance
*Accountant fees
*Upkeep of the gym
*Tablets and electrical equipment
*New kits for the team- Sponsors welcome !!! *
*A mini bus to ferry the kids to and from competitions
*Gym equipment new or used
Please contact us if you have anything that you think will be beneficial to us, we would be so grateful.
Thank you for your help and we look forward to welcoming you at our gym.

7 months agoThe support has been overwhelming, and we are so thankful for everyone who has rallied behind us. Monetary donations, no matter the size, have made a significant impact and are instrumental in our restoration project. The generosity of building suppliers who have donated materials is invaluable and has been crucial in our efforts to revitalize the building. With everyone's support and contributions, we are a step closer to bringing the building back to its former splendor and creating a space that will benefit the community for years to come.

1 year agoHi, thanks all for the help that we have received so far. Your donations have been appreciated, as well as your monetary donations. Some larger companies have been good enough to donate materials free of charge or give us a trade discount. Also, we have had some fantastic tradesmen work for us free of charge 👏 which we can't thank enough. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done, but we have come so far with your help and support. If you could still pass it around so we can receive as much support as we can. Thank you
